Liquid and Gators Back win WoW's BlizzCon finals
WoW's BlizzCon champions have been decided. Catch up on the MDI and AWC finals, with viewing tips for your own dungeon and arena group.
If WoW's finals slipped past you amid the BlizzCon announcements, here is the headline: Team Liquid won the MDI and Gators Back won the AWC. With the September 12–13 event weekend over, the question is which competition you want to catch up on.
Two titles, different opponents
- Mythic Dungeon International: Big Lucky finished as runners-up.
- Arena World Championship: Echo finished as runners-up.
Blizzard's September 14 closing recap confirms the results, in a version distributed unedited by Public Technologies. It does not provide series scores, so we have not added any. Blizzard's closing recap.
The WoW finals returned to BlizzCon for the first time since 2019. MDI dungeon racing and AWC arena combat put two very different sides of the same game on stage. Blizzard's tournament preview.
Watch the decisions, not just the result

Our viewing suggestion is to pick one situation and watch how the team sets it up. A champion's name alone cannot tell your group what to practise.
In MDI, we would follow the preparation for a big pull: movement, cooldown timing and the transition into the next section. Your keystone group need not copy an entire tournament route to learn from one good decision. A tournament strategy might also demand more shared practice than your group has available.
For AWC, watch the moment before a target swap or defensive cooldown. What forced the response? Who gained room to deal damage? Those questions make a match engaging without memorising every composition. One victory alone cannot establish the best class or composition for your own games.
These are our viewing suggestions, not claims about the decisive moments in these finals. A short results recap is not enough to reconstruct the matches.
Where to start afterwards
Blizzard named Warcraft's YouTube and Twitch as official broadcast channels. Search their videos by tournament name; we have not verified the availability of individual recordings. Broadcast information.
For the teams' starting positions and tournament formats, see our earlier AWC and MDI preview. Its times were advance scheduling, not confirmation of actual match times. The rest of our weekend coverage is in the BlizzCon 2026 hub.
