Midnight PTR reshapes class talents and adds a low-health audio warning
Restoration Druid, Devourer and Protection Warrior get notable revisions in the latest 12.1.5 test build, alongside a configurable low-health audio alert.
Midnight’s 12.1.5 test build received another update late on September 15 UTC. Linxy’s new development notes focus on class behaviour and accessibility. These are PTR changes, not a hotfix already applied to live realms.
Druid healing and Devourer talent access
Restoration Druid’s redesigned Nature’s Bounty lets Regrowth heal up to three allies affected by Rejuvenation for 15% of its healing, prioritising those with the lowest health.
Devourer Demon Hunter’s The Hunt and Eradicate move into the middle section of the talent tree, making core tools easier to reach. Soulforged Blades’ critical-strike bonus rises from 15% to 18%, while Voidpurge gains a stronger effect on Void Ray’s cooldown.
Protection’s Execute overhaul is scaled back
The earlier Protection Warrior experiment is not proceeding unchanged. Removing Execute’s optional Rage cost and doubling its damage are now crossed out in the notes. The current test instead gives it 30% more damage, with broader work deferred to later major updates.
Holy Priest’s Ultimate Serenity swaps positions with Holy Celerity. Outlaw Rogue’s Deft Maneuvers now makes Blade Flurry’s additional Energy cost depend on targets hit, intended to ease maintenance against smaller groups.
A warning you can hear
The new Pulse Your Health setting plays a looping sound below a health threshold chosen by the player. The sound becomes more urgent as health falls. It sits in Audio Assist’s Combat Audio Alerts section.
Our view is that this could help when attention is already divided between enemy abilities and the group. Its practical value will depend on how clearly it stands out from other sounds. Testing with your own audio mix matters more than assuming the default will suit everyone.
What to try on the PTR
Changed talent positions are a reason to review a test build rather than simply importing an old code. Beyond damage numbers, watch resource flow and whether essential abilities are accessible without awkward detours.
Kith’ix raid testing also begins this week. Our earlier 12.1.5 overview covers the broader update and testing schedule. The Mythic+ section shows current-season runs, not evidence of this PTR build’s class balance.
