Blizzard restricts raid Bonus Rolls: repeat kills will no longer offer extra loot rolls

Bonus Rolls will soon be available only when the character is still eligible for normal loot from the encounter.

Blizzard is changing raid Bonus Rolls with next week's scheduled maintenance: September 1 in North America and September 2 in Europe.

Bonus Rolls will require loot eligibility

After the change, a Bonus Roll can be used only on an encounter where the character is still eligible for normal loot. Once that difficulty's weekly loot eligibility has been consumed, killing the boss again during the same week will not offer another Bonus Roll.

Players will therefore be unable to bank several tokens and repeatedly defeat an already-looted boss to target one particular item. The restriction is difficulty-specific, so each raid difficulty continues to have its own loot eligibility.

What should players do?

Use the Bonus Roll on the first loot-eligible kill of the boss you want. Blizzard says this differs from Season 1 behavior but aligns the system more closely with normal raid loot rules. The announcement does not increase token supply or improve drop rates.
