Black Temple access may change September 9 · check your attunement

An EU maintenance fix on September 9 restores Black Temple's full attunement requirement. Alt players should log into a character that completed the chain.

Check your Black Temple attunement before this week's raid. Blizzard says EU weekly maintenance on September 9 will fix a bug that allowed some players to enter without completing the full quest chain.

This is a September 1 advance notice becoming relevant this week, not a new announcement removing attunement. At the time of writing, the EU maintenance is still ahead.

Who could lose access?

If the chain is unfinished and no character on your account has completed it, access that currently works may stop working. Having entered Black Temple previously does not by itself prove that the requirement has been met.

One important login for alt players

Blizzard tells players to log into a character that has finished the entire chain. This unlocks the attunement for the rest of the account. The instructions do not say that every alt must complete the chain separately.

Do this before the group assembles: check completion, log into the relevant character, then verify access on the character you intend to raid with. Discovering a problem ahead of the scheduled start is preferable to holding the group at the entrance.

An EU maintenance change

The European notice specifies September 9, without promising an exact time. This is an entry-requirement fix, not a change to Black Temple boss difficulty.
