Mists of Pandaria Classic: Landfall begins September 23

Mists of Pandaria Classic receives its first major content update later this month. Blizzard has announced that Landfall begins September 23, bringing the Horde–Alliance conflict to Pandaria’s shores, a new invitation from Wrathion, and the opening of the Brawler’s Guild.

Landfall is more than another set of quests. It changes Pandaria’s story from exploration into open faction war and gives players three distinct pursuits: repeatable outdoor progression, a long legendary questline, and solo arena encounters built around individual execution.

War reaches Krasarang Wilds

The Alliance and Horde establish bases along the Krasarang Wilds coastline and begin fighting for control. Landfall’s campaign places players inside the escalating faction conflict, with daily quests and reputation progression revealing the story over time.

This also marks a turning point for Mists of Pandaria as a whole. The early local threats recede into the background as the confrontation between Garrosh’s Horde and the Alliance begins to dominate events.

Wrathion continues the legendary questline

Wrathion sends players an invitation that advances the expansion-spanning legendary quest. Blizzard’s announcement confirms an opportunity to earn legendary items, but the WoW Weekly post does not yet provide every step, requirement, or possible weekly restriction.

Players should keep up with current raids and character progression before September 23. Landfall builds on the existing Pandaria journey rather than replacing it with a disconnected catch-up route.

The Brawler’s Guild tests individual execution

The Brawler’s Guild offers solo fights whose mechanics must be solved without support from a raid or dungeon group. Victories earn prestige and advance the player through the guild’s challenge ladder.

That gives Landfall a different pace from its faction campaign. Krasarang is a broad war effort; inside the Brawler’s Guild, survival and damage are entirely the responsibility of one player.

What should players do before the update?

• Finish current Mists of Pandaria Classic raids and important questlines.
• Keep your main character’s gear ready for the campaign and Brawler’s Guild.
• Leave room in the quest log and check the in-game starting quests on September 23.
• Watch for regional unlock times closer to release.

Landfall is MoP Classic’s first major narrative change of direction. The key question is not only how much content arrives, but how well the original Pandaria faction campaign’s gradual progression fits Classic’s current release cadence.
