First Aid has a new job in the Forever beta

Icy Veins reports that healing potions are moving to First Aid. What could that mean for preparing an adventure, and what remains untested?

First Aid may no longer be the skill forgotten at the bottom of a character’s to-do list. Icy Veins reports that the Forever beta moves healing-potion crafting from Alchemy to First Aid, alongside its bandages. This is an attributed beta finding, not a final-release guarantee verified with Blizzard. Original report.

    What does the report establish?

It covers potions from Minor to Major Healing Potion, with spices joining herbs and vials as ingredients. We are not turning that into a definitive skill-level table or shopping route: learning requirements, materials and availability should be checked together in the same build.

A small change with a place in every backpack

Illustration. Preparing an adventure involves more than choosing equipment.

The interesting possibility, to us, is preparation. If making a potion becomes part of a character’s normal routine, packing for a long quest chain might involve more than clearing bag space. There could be a reason to pause and think about the journey ahead.

That would not make a potion free. Materials gathered yourself still have other uses, while purchased ingredients affect the real cost. We are not forecasting price rises or falls without observations of player demand, supply and completed trades.

One recipe group is not a verdict on Alchemy

This report is not a complete Alchemy recipe catalogue. It cannot tell us which profession will earn the most gold or suit every player. Our starting point would be to decide what we want a profession to do, then check whether the current beta actually supports that plan.

Old guides need the same caution. A familiar recipe from Classic or another era does not automatically become a Forever recipe. We would hold off on an expensive materials purchase if the shopping list still came from a different version of the game.

What would make a useful test?

Start with three questions: where is the recipe learned, what does it require, and what does crafting it cost right now? A recipe screenshot, build number and observation date would be more useful than declaring a new mandatory profession. That is our proposed test, not a result we have already obtained.

Our Forever feature covers the broader picture. Visit the Forever news archive for further checked reports from the beta.
