Your Forever name starts here · two-part names and reservation dates

An old character name can mean more than a gear list. It is how your guild knows you, and perhaps the name you have returned to for years. For Forever, it is worth thinking about the other half too.

When can you reserve a name?

Blizzard's announcement puts early reservation on October 27–November 3, 2026, for eligible upgrade purchases, first come, first served. Reservation is not open yet.

Two parts, one full name

The complete combination must be unique within a region, not merely a realm. Characters can still share a first name.

Our practical suggestion: write down several full combinations and say them aloud on Discord. A joke that works for one evening might not be what you want friends calling you next year.

Can you hide the second name?

Use Escape → Options → Nameplates → My Secondary Name to hide it in the world, but not chat. Naming checks can assess both parts together.

A checklist before reservation

Here is how we would prepare:

• Keep a couple of alternatives. Do not build your character's entire story around one exact combination.
• Share your final full name wherever your friends are organising their start.
• Check the official product terms for your purchase before spending money specifically for reservation access.
• Recheck the opening time closer to the date. A calendar date alone does not tell us the precise hour.
