How to read these guides
Each guide splits the profession into TBC skill brackets: 1-75, 75-150, 150-225, 225-300 and 300-375. Crafting professions focus on material groups and recipe choices, while gathering professions focus on zone routes and skill requirements. Always compare exact craft counts with the prices on your own realm.
1-75 Apprentice
- Skinning rises quickly if you do it while leveling.
- Keep a skinning knife with you.
75-150 Journeyman
- The mob level determines when your skill is enough.
- If you fail often, return to a slightly lower area.
150-225 Expert
- Beast mobs in dungeons can be good if the group lets you skin in peace.
- Save the leather for Leatherworking.
225-300 Artisan
- Higher-level zones provide rugged-stage materials better.
- Skinning is a good way to gather gold before Outland.
300-375 Master / Outland
- Clefthoof, ravager and dragonkin style mobs are important for different materials.
- Late Leatherworking crafts can require special leathers, so do not sell everything immediately.
