Method returns to World First victories after a seven-year wait

Method defeated Mythic Vashnik and Sszorak first in the world. Vashnik was the guild's first boss World First in seven years.

Method has returned to the World First winners' circle. The European guild defeated Mythic Vashnik the Malignant before anyone else and followed it with the first Sszorak kill the next day. Vashnik was Method's first boss-specific World First in seven years.

The achievement is significant, but the overall Venomous Abyss Race to World First remains undecided. A boss World First records the first guild to defeat that encounter. The raid race is only won when a guild defeats Mythic Ula’tek.

Vashnik ends the long wait

Method's live coverage records the Vashnik kill on August 24. After progressing the opening raid encounters with several character groups, the guild took its main composition into the fight and secured the first successful Mythic kill. It ended a seven-year period without a boss World First for Method.

The guild then moved to Sszorak. On August 25, Method also secured the first kill of that encounter and reached 5/8 Mythic. Other leading guilds were meanwhile using their weekly resets for Heroic and Mythic splits before returning to Sszorak progression.

Two wins do not settle the raid race

An individual World First matters because it shows that a guild solved and executed an encounter before its rivals. It does not guarantee victory on the next boss or the final encounter. Reclear speed, new gear, private strategy work, and the difficulty of later bosses can change the order quickly.

Method's back-to-back victories make the Venomous Abyss race more open and give the guild a tangible reward for years of rebuilding. The largest question is still unanswered: which team will defeat Ula’tek first and win the complete raid?

The standings should therefore be treated as a snapshot. On August 26, Method led at five Mythic kills and held two World Firsts in this raid, but the race was still active.
