Four Forever classes in focus · Mage, Shaman, Rogue and Warlock
Blizzard's class previews highlight Frostfire Bolt, totem controls, Rogue poisons and Warlock demons. Here is what we would watch during beta.
How does a familiar class feel when more than the numbers inside its talent tree change? We picked four talking points from Blizzard's new Forever previews to consider before planning another build. This is a selective overview, not a complete changelog or a class ranking.
Mage · a reason to mix spell schools
Frostfire Bolt arrives at level 40 and benefits from both Fire and Frost talents. Arcane Blast empowers the next different spell. Blizzard explains both in its Mage and Shaman preview.
Our interest is the choice itself: would you build around one clear idea or experiment across schools? Start with a question you want to test, rather than a shopping list promising the highest possible damage.
Shaman · less time setting up totems again
Persistent buff totems last five minutes. Totemic Projection repositions totems, while Call of the Elements summons a preset group of four.
Our suggested test is deliberately ordinary: repeat a familiar group situation and watch how much time you spend preparing. Ease of use deserves attention alongside damage numbers.
Rogue · poisons and the opening move

Poisons gain charges and can coexist with temporary weapon enchants. Sap no longer breaks Stealth. These changes appear in the Rogue and Warlock preview.
When practising with a group, we would discuss the opening: who engages first, and who waits a moment? That is a more useful starting point than comparing final damage totals alone.
Warlock · plan around your demon, too
Pets scale with their summoner's stats. Demonic Pact preserves a demon sacrifice benefit when you summon a different demon.

Our first question would be what you actually want your companion to do for you. Choose the goal before choosing the tools. Solo questing and group play may produce different answers for the same player.
Check the version before planning a build

Our calculators still use the beta snapshot dated September 25. Publishing this article does not mean every new detail is already reflected in those tools. Check discrepancies against the original posts linked above. We will not infer a final class ranking from previews without comparable gameplay data.
