Hallow’s End 2026: the ghosts move into your neighbourhood
Hallow’s End runs until November 2. Explore neighbourhood quests, candy exchanges, new decor and the Headless Horseman’s rewards.
Hallow’s End gives you a reason to go trick-or-treating around your own home this year. Running from October 19 to November 2, the event adds haunted player neighbourhoods, daily activities, decorations and new candy buckets in Midnight. Blizzard’s event guide.
If you only have one evening, choose a goal before trying to cover everything. Decorating, collecting achievements and visiting the Headless Horseman each suggest a different route. This guide covers the event in current WoW; its new housing activities should not be assumed to exist in Classic versions.
Start in the neighbourhood: your home gets a holiday
The A Haunted Home quest introduces the new activities. A Holiday Enthusiast directs you to Yin in your neighbourhood. Drustvar, Duskwood and Felwood provide the themes, with activities including Nomi’s daily quests and ghost hunting.
Our main practical suggestion is to visit the holiday hub first. Once you know where the quests, candy and traders are, the evening becomes easier to organise. Following random decorations can take you around the neighbourhood before you have even decided what you came to do.
Blizzard describes Community Candy Crawl as a 15-minute event every hour, bringing candy collection to the front of occupied housing plots. Check its current state in the neighbourhood. The announcement does not provide a universal start time that would let us promise a particular minute in your local time zone.
Keep the two candy currencies separate
Neighborhood Candy and the holiday vendors’ Tricky Treats are different things. You can exchange neighbourhood candy for Tricky Treats, with Blizzard stating that rates vary between neighbourhoods and change daily.
Begin a shopping trip by choosing what you want. Check the item’s price and currency, then decide what you need to collect. Looking for a favourable exchange is an optional part of the evening, rather than a reason to spend the entire session checking rates.
| Your evening’s goal | A useful first stop | A manageable boundary |
|---|---|---|
| A decoration for your home | Holiday vendor | Choose one item you already have a place for. |
| A new achievement | Its requirements in the game | Identify the missing condition before collecting candy. |
| Time with friends | Neighbourhood holiday hub | Agree on one shared quest or candy circuit. |
| Horseman rewards | The holiday encounter | Separate daily loot from the rare mount objective. |
These routes are our suggestions, not a calculation of the fastest currency yield.
One good find can be enough for a decorator
Vendors include Jolli Maxiboom in Razorwind Shores and Holly Twinklebright in Founder’s Point. Some holiday purchases use gold; others use Tricky Treats. The new A Frightening Friend achievement awards Scarecrow Pepe decor for finding Pepe in his spooky outfit. Official vendor and achievement details.
You can plan the trip around a room. Does the entrance need light, a corner of the garden need a pumpkin, or a wall need a clear focal point? Giving an item a purpose before buying it keeps shopping from becoming an exercise in emptying a catalogue. A small themed corner may work better than filling the entire house at once.
With friends, the event can also provide an excuse to tour one another’s homes. Collecting then offers another reward: seeing what somebody else did with the same candle or decoration. That is our suggestion for an evening together, rather than a holiday requirement.
The Headless Horseman: a mount chance, not a promise
The Headless Horseman encounter offers a chance at the Ghoulish Charger mount. Blizzard also describes a daily Ghoulish Armor appearance piece without duplicates. Winning does not guarantee the mount. Horseman reward details.

Collectors of older rewards should check the vendors too. Patched Harvest Golem appearance pieces are part of the holiday shop selection. These are returning rewards, rather than this year’s new neighbourhood additions.

Leave time for a final shopping trip
The event’s stated end date is November 2. Check the precise local ending time in the in-game calendar and make your most important purchases in advance. Read achievement requirements before the final evening, since some objectives involve quests from particular themes.
A satisfying first session might end with one decoration, one completed quest and one Horseman attempt. By then, you will know which part of the holiday you want to return to. The entire event need not become a two-week checklist.
