Season 3 revisits familiar dungeons · a shorter Uldaman and a new Stonecore
Blizzard previews changes to returning dungeons. A shorter Uldaman and a rebuilt Stonecore show why old routes may need another look.
A familiar dungeon does not automatically mean a familiar evening. Blizzard’s Season 3 preview outlines changes to returning instances. These are development plans that may change, not an update already applied to live servers.
Uldaman tackles its length
Lost Dwarves will be disabled on Heroic, Mythic and M+, leaving four bosses. Emberon’s Purging Flames will use health thresholds instead of repeating energy cycles.
For us, the interesting question is pacing: does forced downtime shrink, or does the time spent simply move elsewhere? Without test results, we cannot promise a particular time saving or an easier key. Boss count alone does not answer that.
Stonecore and Iron Docks need another look
Stonecore is planned for a broad visual and mechanical overhaul. Iron Docks bosses and enemies are also being revisited, while Blizzard wants to preserve Iron Stars.
Old experience gives you a useful mental map, but it is not the same as a finished route. Our suggestion is to begin the season by identifying which of your previous assumptions no longer hold.
Less interrupt pressure?
Sanguine Depths is being reviewed for caster density and ability clutter. Underrot is being explored for new routing options.
That raises useful group questions even before exact numbers arrive: who tracks dangerous casts, how do pulls fit around cooldowns, and where can you leave room for mistakes? It would be premature to invent final answers.
What to do now
Keep previous notes as a comparison, but do not lock in a new-season route from them. Once testing provides evidence, pay particular attention to enemy placement and boss phases.
This report adds dungeon-change detail to our earlier Eclipse coverage. It does not confirm a season launch date, final difficulty or best composition.
