Ula’tek gets substantial nerfs · Midnight classes change alongside the raid
Ula’tek's damage and adds are being reduced. This week's class tuning also buffs Enhancement, improves Brewmaster durability and adjusts Unholy's Blightfall.
Blizzard is easing several pressure points in the Ula’tek encounter at once. Its October 6 raid announcement targets incoming damage and adds. The same week's class adjustments also change some of the tools groups bring to the fight.
Ula’tek: fewer waves and lighter damage spikes
On Heroic and Mythic, Spectral Coils damage falls 20%, Grasping Fangs periodic damage 30%, and Blight Vein lasts four seconds instead of six. Warden’s Protection damage drops 80%.
Several final-phase adds lose 20% health. Mythic Caustic Waves drops from seven waves to three. Serpent’s Bite will no longer require more than three soakers regardless of raid size.
Our reading is that this offers a useful practice window, not a guaranteed kill. Start with the group's earlier death logs: did healing tools run out, did an add survive, or did positioning break down? Identifying that problem gives the next pull a purpose beyond hoping the numbers will carry it.
Enhancement buffs and an Unholy adjustment
Enhancement's PvE ability and auto-attack damage increases 4%, with Lava Lash up 35%. Unholy's Blightfall deals 100% of remaining plague damage instead of 200%; Augmentation damage attribution is also corrected.
Halving that Blightfall number does not halve all Unholy damage. Nor can the Lava Lash change be read as Enhancement's overall percentage gain. Assessing a character requires the contribution of each ability and genuinely comparable encounters.
Durability and alternative talent choices
Brewmaster's Quick Sip purifies 8% of current Stagger instead of 5%. Mistweaver's Invigorating Mists gains 15% healing. Subtlety's Trickster receives buffs, alongside improvements to multiple PvP talents.
This is not a new class ranking. We would not rebuild a raid roster around a percentage list before identifying what is actually stopping progression. Check the full class post for the PvE or PvP scope of any individual change before applying it to your own setup.
Do not confuse this with the 12.1.5 launch
Blizzard schedules the changes for regional weekly maintenance; October 6 is the date in its US post. This is distinct from Midnight 12.1.5 arriving in Europe on October 14.
Keep current raid practice and next week's content preparation as separate plans. Otherwise it is easy to put useful progress on hold simply because another update is approaching.
