Forever opens Azeroth’s side roads · Riverglades, Skyborne and Forsaken paladins
Blizzard has shared new details about Forever’s world. We look at travelling to Riverglades, the Skyborne’s background and why a Forsaken paladin needs more than a different character model.
Travelling to Riverglades, Skyborne origins and the Forsaken paladins’ story received fresh detail in Blizzard’s Sunday Found Photos recap. The overview builds on Forever’s announcement, focusing on its world and local stories. Panel recap.
A time bubble is not an eraser
Forever begins in WoW’s first year. The Found Photos recap describes its own time bubble. Blizzard.
It follows Forsaken Kingdom and precedes Molten Core, sitting alongside modern and Classic WoW. Blizzard’s overview.
Our reading is not that every later Warcraft story has been declared invalid. Establishing a setting and rewriting an entire franchise’s history are different claims; we are not reporting the latter.
Reaching Riverglades by boat
Riverglades has nearly 200 quests. Ship connections include Stormwind–Auberdine and Tanaris–Powderfuse Port. Blizzard.

The earlier What’s Next recap placed Riverglades largely around levels 35–45, describing a frontier of rivers, trade routes and struggling communities. Earlier overview.
For us, the routes’ appeal is the possibility of making an evening together easier to arrange: friends arriving from different starting points could meet more naturally. The quest total suggests scale, not a verdict on quality or a promised number of playing hours.
Additions along familiar roads
Starting areas, Wetlands and Desolace’s centaur quests are receiving additions. Blizzard.
In our view, discovering new content and returning to an old favourite need not be competing choices. An interesting return could begin somewhere familiar, too.
A paladin’s story crosses between games
Warcraft III’s official panel identifies Garek Bandarion and Dark Ranger Anya as central Forsaken Kingdom characters. It also confirms that the Forsaken paladins’ origin story continues into Forever. Warcraft III recap.
The same recap describes the campaign as filling the four-year gap between Warcraft III and WoW.
Forever features Bandarion Keep and a dedicated level-60 epic mount quest for Forsaken paladins. Blizzard.
For us, that is the real hook in the connection: a strategy game’s events could gain a personal continuation through our own WoW character. A Warcraft III hero’s abilities still cannot be copied into a WoW class guide.
Skyborne roots lead back to Eldre’Thalas
Skyborne origins trace to rebels fleeing Eldre’Thalas after the War of the Ancients, later finding refuge in Skywall. Blizzard.

The earlier panel describes Zephras as a level 1–12 starting experience, with Skyborne faction choice made at character creation. What’s Next recap.
We covered release plans and optional purchases in our Forever announcement. Our Forsaken Kingdom article separates Warcraft III’s game from this connection between their stories.
