Midnight Season 2 dungeons receive a major tuning pass as Mythic lockouts reset daily
Blizzard shortened Murder Row, reworked Temple of Sethraliss and clarified dangerous mechanics. Season 2's regular Mythic lockouts now reset daily.
Blizzard has delivered a broad first tuning pass for Midnight Season 2 dungeons. This is more than a collection of number changes: one route is shorter, several dangerous ground effects are easier to read, and the final encounter in Temple of Sethraliss places more responsibility on players.
The pool-wide headline is that regular Mythic lockouts for Season 2 dungeons now reset daily instead of weekly. Mythic+ still uses its own keystone system, so this does not create a daily Mythic+ lockout.
Daily Mythic resets create more room to practise and gear
The daily reset gives groups more opportunities to collect gear from base Mythic dungeons before entering Mythic+. They no longer need to wait until the next weekly reset for another loot opportunity. This change should not be read as saying that an unsuccessful attempt by itself locks the entire dungeon.
It should also help new characters and alts catch up. The change does not guarantee drops or remove loot rules, but it substantially increases the number of available practice and loot attempts each week.
Murder Row becomes shorter and more predictable
Murder Row receives the clearest route change. Required enemy forces fall from 690 to 655, and the three-enemy pack before Xathuux the Annihilator has been removed. Routes therefore have more breathing room, with less risk that one extra pull forces an awkward correction near the end.
Five Star Review in the Cantina event lasts five minutes instead of four, while Food Missiles now targets defined positions around the room. Felmaster Lucsei's Blade Dance gains a two-second cast and deals 10% less impact damage. The dungeon still punishes poor positioning, but it now offers clearer information and more reaction time.
Temple of Sethraliss puts more weight on the healer
The largest encounter redesign affects the Avatar of Sethraliss. Cleansed Lifeforce's passive healing is capped at three applications and ticks every three seconds rather than every two. Healing the boss will therefore depend more heavily on the healer's own output.
Corrupted Lifeforce now gives six seconds to soak instead of 4.5 and is more visible. Corruption's physical vulnerability falls from 300% to 250%, but its periodic damage rises. Tainted Strike deals 50% less periodic damage, is capped at two applications and lasts 25 seconds. The result should reduce sudden confusion while making sustained group and healer execution more important.
Ruby Life Pools and Kings' Rest gain clarity
In Ruby Life Pools, Melidrussa Chillworn's Hailburst gains one second of cast time. Kyrakka's Flaming Embers shrink from seven to five yards and spawn more predictably. Kyrakka also pauses after landing for the final phase, giving the group time to reposition the boss before the next cast.
The Council of Tribes in Kings' Rest ends as soon as Zanazal the Wise dies. Dazar's Impaling Spear and several trash abilities receive clearer visuals, while Shadow of Zul's Dark Revelation now prefers non-tanks. The apparent goal is to make deaths reflect player decisions rather than unclear telegraphs.
Four more dungeons receive targeted fixes
The Blinding Vale reduces Ziekket's Lightbloom's Essence periodic damage by 25% and improves Hunting Leap's ground visual. Altar of Fangs gains a return route from Rav'i's chamber to the entrance. In Den of Nalorakk, Warding Incense now gives 5% Versatility to the whole group and persists through death, while Spirit of Hunger's Insatiable Hunger is capped at five stacks.
In Voidscar Arena, Aegyra's Champion's Spear has 15% less health. Raj'kess's Disruption Orb cast must be stopped within 13 seconds instead of 15, creating a slightly tighter damage check even as breaking the spear becomes easier.
What should players change?
The shared direction is clear: Blizzard is removing route friction, making dangerous zones more legible and providing clearer counterplay. Temple of Sethraliss is the important exception to a simple “everything is easier” reading, because passive assistance is reduced and healer responsibility increases.
Groups should update dungeon notes and routes before their next keys. Murder Row's enemy-forces change affects planning immediately, while Temple of Sethraliss requires a different healing and soak rhythm. The changes went live with scheduled regional maintenance.
