English40-player raid10 bossesNerf history

How to use the guides

Open the boss, first read the TL;DR and priorities, then check the pre-pull, mechanics, phasing and own role. Nerf history tells you what belongs to Classic 1.12 mode and what is only later season content.

Number values are not guessed: if the original patch note only states that the encounter has changed, the guide says so directly.

The foundation of Classic raiding

Molten Core progresses from Lucifron to Ragnaros in the established order of ten bosses. The first part tests dispels and add control, the middle part tests positioning and individual responsibility, and Ragnaros combines tank changes, Fire resistance preparation and a controlled add phase.

For raid lead: Before you go, check the dispel and banish splits, the hunters' Tranquilizing Shot, Majordomo's CC map, and Ragnaros' tank and Sons squads.

Nerf-history scope

Guide describes the 1.12-based 40-player Molten Core of the Classic Era and Anniversary realms. The documented changes of the original 2004–2006 Vanilla are told as historical information on a boss-by-boss basis.

VersionInvolved in tacticsProcessing
Classic Era / AnniversaryYesThe guide's actual objective mode and basic mechanics for 40 players.
Original VanillaAs historyOnly patch and hotfix changes documented in sources.
Season of MasteryNoNew adds and mechanics are mentioned only to clarify the scope.
Season of DiscoveryNoThe 20-player Heat levels and additional boss are a different raid version.

The Anniversary version removes the buff and debuff limits, but the core tactics of the bosses are still Classic-based.
